ACF2 R16 password reset ISPF panel looping error.

Issue/Introduction

One of the ACF2 administration behaviors has changed in version 16: users are unable to change their passwords via the ACF2 ISPF panels prior to expiration, though they can still do so when prompted after the expiry date. The RESET password panel (option 2; 7 -RESET) loops with the following message:

Password similarity checking active and current password is invalid
COMMAND ISPEXEC INVALID OR AMBIGUOUS
COMMAND ISPEXEC INVALID OR AMBIGUOUS
COMMAND ACF INVALID OR AMBIGUOUS

Environment

Release: ACF2 for Z/OS R16

Resolution

Users may encounter a loop when attempting to reset their password through the panel (LID017) if the GSO PSWD PSWDSIM field contains a non-zero value.

SYMPTOMS:
Panel LID017 loops trying to reset a password.
 
IMPACT:
Cannot reset your own password through our panel with PSWDSIM enabled.
 
CIRCUMVENTION:
Do the reset using the ACF command line. or Apply PTF SO03632
