Allocating database extents to a CA View database

Issue/Introduction

We are planning to add bigger datasets to our SARDBASE and would like to know if we can run a mixture of  Direct access and Physical Sequential datasets ?

Resolution

Yes the  CA View Database can consist of extents made up of a mixture of Direct Access and  Physical Access datasets

Datasets allocated with 4,369 or fewer cylinders are allocated as an IBM direct access data set.

Datasets that are more than 4,369 cylinders are  allocated as physical sequential datasets due to
IBM restrictions.
