dd and remove options appear in Access Catalog erroneously - CA Identity Portal

Issue/Introduction

Users see the option to add ("+") and remove ("-") target permissions in the Access Catalog even when they do not have the required access rights.

• If a user already has the target permission, the remove ("-") option appears.
• If a user does not belong to the target permission, both the ("+") and ("-") options appear.

Environment

• CA Identity Portal 14.x, 15.x

Cause

The default configuration for the cart mode allows these options to be visible regardless of specific user permissions until strict mode is enabled.

Resolution

To change this behavior, enable strict cart mode:

1. Log in to the Identity Portal Management Console.
2. Navigate to Setup > Gui Configuration.
3. Select the User Related > General Info tab.
4. Locate the strict_cart_mode attribute.
5. Change the value to true.
